On Sunday, April 12, 2026, the 63rd Grand Shrine of Ise Shikinen Sengu Takiharamiya Wood-pulling Ceremony will be held, in which timber will be donated to Takiharanomiya and Takiharano Narabinomiya, branch shrines of the Imperial Grand Shrine of Ise, located in Takihara, Taiki Town.
The 63rd Shikinen Sengu of Takihara Shrine will be held in the autumn of 16, with the most important ceremony being the "transferenceA "Ceremony of the 8th Anniversary ...
This "Okihiki" is a folk event led by the residents of Taiki Town, who were formerly part of the shrine's territory, in which timber is loaded onto two offering carts and offered to Takihara Shrine.
Wearing matching happi coats, the participants slowly parade down the old Kumano Highway to the sounds of shouts of "En'ya!" and lumberjack songs.
The Taiki Town Tourism Association is currently recruiting "special shrine residents" to participate in this "Okihiki Ceremony."

*Date and time: Sunday, April 12th, 2026, 9:00am at Misegawa, 11:00am at Chojano (Special Shinryo residents will be at Chojano)
*Schedule for the day: (with breaks and lunch)
・Mitsusegawa 9:10 departure 14:30 arrival at Takihara Shrine ・Offering 15:40 Nohara Daikagura offering 16:00 rice cake throwing
・Chojano 11:10 departure 14:30 arrival at Takihara Shrine and offering 15:40 Nohara Daikagura offering 16:00 rice cake throwing
*Participation fee: 10,000 yen per person (includes Takiharamiya Shikinen Sengu happi coat, obi, hand towel, bean-dyed dyeing cloth, lunch, drink, and souvenir)
