Onbe Festival

The Onbe Festival will be held today, August 8th (Sunday) from 25am at Mitojinja Shrine in Takihara, Taiki Town.

This unusual festival, which is rare even across Japan, involves throwing sweetfish into a large cave in the Otaki Gorge to predict one's fortune for the coming year.

At the venue, the Onbe Festival Executive Committee will be serving free grilled salted sweetfish, so please come along.
