Kumano Kodo Walk (Misezaka Pass and Tsuzurato Pass)
The Kumano Kodo Iseji route connects Ise and the Kumano Sanzan shrines. Taiki Town is home to the Kumano Kodo's Sanzezaka Pass and the World Heritage Site Tsuzurato Pass.
On the Kumano Kodo Walk, you will walk along the ancient paths accompanied by a guide from the Kumano Storytellers Association, experiencing history, culture and nature.
Mitsusezaka Pass is a mountain with an elevation of 265m, and although it is not high, it is a steep, winding road. There are remains of a teahouse and a Jizo statue that is said to have been enshrined in the 6th year of the Horeki era, and you can feel the atmosphere of an ancient road.
Tsuzurato Pass was once the border between the provinces of Ise and Kii. Tsuzurato means "a series of zigzags," meaning there are a series of curves, but the stone pavement and stone walls are well preserved.
