Preparations for the Takihara Shrine timber hauling ceremony

Preparations are steadily progressing around Takihara Shrine for the Mikibiki ceremony on April 12th.

Banners, flags, lanterns, and signs are being set up one after another, and the Kumano pilgrimage route through which the procession floats pass is brightly decorated.

"Okihiki" is an important event that marks the beginning of the 63rd Shikinen Sengu (periodic rebuilding of the shrine), and it is a proud folk event that has been carefully passed down by the local people.
