Takihara Shrine/Takihara Shrine

Both Takiharamiya and Takiharanomiya are branch shrines of the Imperial Grand Shrine (the Inner Shrine of Ise Jingu), and have long been worshipped as the "remote shrines of the great gods." The deity enshrined in both shrines is "Amaterasu Omikami-no-mitama," and both shrines are enshrined in palaces next to each other.
The sacred grounds are surrounded by a deep forest and cover an area of 44 hectares, and the approximately 600-meter-long approach to the shrine is lined with cedar trees that are over hundreds of years old.
